AI Software Engineer

Abu Dhabi

Primary

Responsible for major AI software project development tasks, such as specifying definitions and assumptions, technical requirements and dependencies, software architecture and code design, planning and code development.
Evaluate theoretically and experimentally existing and new designs and models.
Write technical documentation and communicate progress through presentations with detail-level insights as well as system-level (manager-friendly) viewpoints.
Develop well maintained, modular and expandable math-heavy code.
Always think/code like program architect.
Execute design enhancements to support current and new product /solution requirements for functionality and innovation.
Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software.
Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
Design elegant and workable software solutions, both on an application and system-wide level.
Ability to rapidly prototype real features in a startup environment.
Work with researchers and analysts to improve software.
Collaborate with program and project leads to ideate software solutions for any company business domain if needed considering also marketing perspectives, brainstorming and technical or known organizational constrains.

Secondary:

Performs all essential aspects and functions of the software programmer’s daily job duties as well as any other specific job requirements if needed.

Mandatory requirements:

Minimum bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.
Minimum 1.5 year (if master’s degree) or 2.5 years (if bachelor’s degree) of industry/business/research group experience AFTER graduation with developing AI software solutions.
Minimum 1 year of industry/business/research/research group experience with object-oriented programming.
Minimum 1 project hands-on industry/business/research group experience with development of learning algorithms from scratch (not using the AI/ML libraries) (project, experience or research justification required).
Is already living in the UAE (preferably Abu Dhabi).

Desired, not mandatory requirements:

Apathetic workers with a low concern or interest in personal professional growth and development of complex project skills (soft skills included).
Unhealthy non-perfectionists who see formal execution of tasks as the only performance principle of their job role.
Underdeveloped mindsets expecting and accepting only explicitly stated and “foolproof” orders due to omission of ordinary interest in the bigger picture or project success.
A passive personality that never takes extra initiative and more responsibility than the minimum.
Indifferent attitude neglecting opportunities for continuous project improvement and routinely ignores the existence of procedural bottlenecks.
“Spectators and passengers” who never ask, express ideas or independently propose enhancements.
“Toxic” team players who promote silent conflicts within the R&D team (e.g. habitually spread gossips), discourage inclusive collaboration or give confidence to malicious attitudes leading to low team engagement, morale or performance.
